About a mile down the creek from Red Mills was Marion Post Office which was named in honor of Marion Moore. One of the prominent families of the surrounding area was that of Marion Moore. He taught school for many years and was one of the leading businessmen of the community. A large three-story building was erected for him by J. Mendel Garrett, a local carpenter. In addition to the general store and the post office, the third floor of the building was the Marion Council, No. 40 Junior Order of United American Mechanics, the chief labor union of the oil field workers.51

her parents. On 10 July 1923, Katherine married CLEMMENS BURGE

HENRY BURGE & SARAH J. NICE, he was
born 08 December 1876 at Rosbys Rock, Marshall County24
and died from an abscess 21 September 1953 at Ohio Valley General Hospital in Wheeling, Ohio County. He

valued at $1,500 at 202 - 18th Street, Wheeling. Also

(12), brother Richard Rickman (40) & married niece Pansy Lucas
(16). Clemens was employed as a Railroad trackman and had not

Charley M. (4 years 6 months) and Lizzie (4 months). Elmer

He was born about 1852 in Marshall County and died before
August 1941 as Christina's obituary listed her as a widow. (I
can't locate Frank on any censuses - it's possibly Frank was his
