Leota H. Cross, 94, of Pine Grove, WV died Monday, Dec 24, 1985, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, WV. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, Pine Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Benton Cross, in 1971. Surviving are two sons, Dale of St. Albans, WV, Ora of Oakland, CA; a daughter, Etta Gray of Yorkville; a sister, Pearl Lemasters of Wileyville; four brothers, Andy, Homer, Harry and Lee Huggins all of Wileyville; a half-brother Homer R. Huggins of Kodol, WV; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Friends were received at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove. Services were held at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Interment in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Hastings.
MARGARET ELIZABETH ZWICK HAMILTON
HAMILTON, Margaret Elizabeth, 85, of 153 Andover Road, Woodsfield, died Monday, Aug 31, 1998, at home. She was a former employee of Woodsfield Elementary School Cafeteria and a member of Woodsfield Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Hamilton, in 1983; a daughter, Marlene Hamilton Morgan; her parents, Mark and Atha Zwick; three brothers; seven sisters. Surviving are two sons, Dennis and Alan, both of Woodsfield; two daughters, Eulalia Hamilton Walker of Centerville, OH, and Shirley Hamilton Stewart of Logan , OH; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. Friends receive d 6-9 p.m. today at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield where services will be held at 1p.m. Thursday. Interment in Oaklawn Cem., Woodsfield.
DAISY BELLE POSTLETHWAIT HUGGINS
Mrs. Daisy Belle Huggins of Wileyville, died June 2 1960, at her home. She was born at Wileyville, Dec 30 1897, a daughter of Levi and Mary L. Greathouse Postlethwait and was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are her husband, Andy; four sons, Edward at home; Earl and Robert of Kodol and William of Wileyville, one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Siburt of Moundsville; two sisters; Mrs. Caroline Young of Lincoln Park Mich., and Mrs Anna Pyles of New Martinsville; one brother, Sherman Postlethwait of Cameron; and seven grandchildren. Friends were received at the Palmer Funeral Home in Pine Grove. Services were held Sunday, June 5 at 2 pm. at the Wileyville Church of Christ. Burial was at the Poole Cemetery near Wileyville.
Homer C. Huggins, 91, of Wileyville, WV, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000 , in the New Martinsville Health Care Center. He was a Protestant by faith. He was retired from PPG Industries Inc., New Martinsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Rosa Belle Wykert Huggins; seven brothers, Clarence, Wiley, Andy, Russell, Lee, Harry and Homer Huggins; and two sisters, Pearl LeMasters and Leota Cross.
Surviving are his wife, Pansy V. Pyles Huggins; a step grandson, Jody Robinson of Moundsville; a step granddaughter, Lisa Sabutka of Moundsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove. Interment in Poole Cemetery, Wileyville.
HOMER C. 'LITTLE HOMER' HUGGINS
Homer C. Huggins, 77, of Knob Fork, WV, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at home.
He was born Nov. 11, 1922, in New Martinsville, a son of the late William T. and Eva Dawson Huggins.
He retired as a pipe fitter from PPG in 1985 after 33 years of service. He was a World War II veteran who served in the United States army and was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred. He was a member of the Wileyville Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Florine Phillips Huggins; three sons, Michael Huggins of Burton, Larry Huggins of New Martinsville and Randy Huggins of Littleton; a daughter, Janey Longwell of New Martinsville; 10 grandchildren; two half-brothers, Homer C. Huggins "Big Homer" of Wileyville and Woodrow Lancaster of West Union; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several half brothers and half-sisters.
Friends will be received at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Valley Cem., near Wileyville.
HUGGINS, Wilma Marie, 74, of Monpoint Continuing Care, Morgantown W.Va., formally of Wileyville W.Va., passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2006. Wilma was born on June 5, 1932 to the late Lucy Thomas Huggins and Homer Huggins, both of Wileyville, W.Va.
Wilma and her mother Lucy attended the Long Valley Church of Christ on Rt. 7, Wetzel County W.Va.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her aunt, Gladys Thomas Jackson; uncle, William ( Bill ) Thomas and her aunt, Mary Thomas Hutchison; her very special friend and room mate, Cathy Wilson of Monpoint Cont. Care. Cathy was Wilma’s Angel here on earth.
Wilma will be missed by all her many cousins; and by all her many friends and care givers at Monpoint Cont. Care. Anyone that met Wilma loved her kind and loving ways . She had a smile for anyone she met. Her favorite song was You Are My Sunshine, and she truly was sunshine to all.
Family and friends will have a viewing and hold graveside services on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Moore Cemetery on Greathouse Hill, Wileyville. Anyone wishing to make donations on Wilma’s behalf are asked to send them to the American Cancer Society or to the Montpoint Continuing Care, 30 Vandervon Drive, Morgantown, WV. MACY 'PEARL' HUGGINS LEMASTERS
Lemasters, Pearl M., 91, of 144 Pike St., New Martinsville, died Sunday at home. She was a member of Wileyville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death her husband, John R., in 1975; her parents, William T. and Rosie Wacker Huggins; four brothers; a sister. Surviving are a son, Winford of Follansbee; two daughters, Mildred Shreve of New Martinsvile and Mary Hummell of Ambridge, Pa.; a foster daughter Dorothy Sloan at home; three brothers, Harry and Homer C. Huggins, both of Wileyville and Home Huggins of Knob Fork; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Grisell Funeral Home, Ratcliffe Chapel, 751 Third St., New Martinsville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Interment in Northview Cemetery, new Martinsville. Memorial Contributions may be made to Journey Hospice, Sistersville.
