I began researching my Huggins roots in about September 2004 and, since then, have been in contact with many wonderful people (including several newly found cousins). Every single one was generous with their knowledge. Nearly all of the Huggins / Huggans families on this site were from West Virginia, Pennsylvania and/or Ohio. My brick wall ancestor was John Randolph Huggans (aka John Randolph Huggins), who was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania. As an adult, he was a riverboat pilot on the Ohio River and a farmer. He moved to a farm in Tyler (now Wetzel) County, married and raised a family. Through DNA research it was proven John had a brother (or 1st cousin) named George "Goen" Huggins who had also moved to Tyler (now Wetzel) County. The following pages are about their families...
PLEASE NOTE: 1. If a search for a particular HUGGINS comes up empty, try using HUGGANS. 2. I've tried to include only accurate information here but some sources are unproven. 3. If you have questions, corrections, additional information and/or pictures to share, please click on the "Email" button. below.
