Oklie J. Huggins, 80, of Kenna went home to be with Jesus Wednesday, February
27, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his son, John; daughter, Geegee; and two grandsons.
He retired from Chemical Tank Lines after 44 years as a truck driver. He was a
member of the Teamsters Local 175 and a World War II and Korean War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Huggins; sons, Steve (Nancy)
Huggins of Florida and Joseph (Nica) Huggins of
Tennessee; daughters, Fran (David) Breedlove of South
Charleston, Jennifer Mansfield of Kenna and Eldena Kincaid
of Charleston; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; stepmother,
Rose Farrow of New Martinsville; and brothers, Dale and Harold
Huggins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Pleasant View
Methodist Church, Fishers Ridge, Goldtown, with Pastor David Patters
officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston.

Jerry Lee Huggins, 29, of North Kansas City, MO., formerly of New Martinsville, died Sunday in Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville. He was a truck driver and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila Fay Powell Huggins; his parents, Curtis and Rosella Paith Huggins of New Martinsville; a son, Jerry Curtis at home; a daughter, Connie of New Martinsville; three brothers, Harold W. and Dale E., both of New Martinsville and Oaklie of Sissonville, W. VA; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Weber of Peoria, Ill.
Friends were received at the Lutes Funeral Home, Moundsville, Wednesday, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (today). Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.

In 1987, Hilda lived in Jacksonburg, OH. By 2001, she was living in or near Martins Ferry, Belmont County.

56. JANICE LEE HUGGINS (ORVILLE RAY4, WILEY WEBSTER3, OLIVER T.2, JOHN RANDOLPH1) was born 27 June 1936 in Moundsville3 and died 29 March 2004 in Alameda, Alameda County, California.6
She had an unhappy childhood due mostly to her relationship with her father. Eventually she stopped attending High School and was sent to the Industrial Home for Girls. (Click here for more information).
Janice had a relationship with HOWARD KEENIE FAULKINER, son of JOHN FAULKINER & REBECCA MAXWELL.10 He was born 15 December 1922 in Philippi, Barbour County11 and died from cirrhosis on 27 March 2003 in Follansbee, Brooke County.11 Howard served in the U.S. Navy during WWII & Korea War and was in the Merchant Marines for many years.12 He was a Commander of the Moundsville American Legion.12 At the time of his death, he was retired from Triangle Conduit Company.12
On 18 May 1957, Janice married (1) DONALD NELSON FOX in Moundsville. (Click here to view Marriage License/Minister's Return). The son of WILLIAM FOX & MABEL ASHTON, he was born 24 July 1919 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania3 and died 02 February 1978 in Concord, Contra Costa County, California.6 The marriage ended in divorce in 1972.10
Donald was a union painting and drywall contractor.10, 13 He married a total of 4 times - Janice was wife #3.10 He served in the U.S. Army from 5 October 1946 (9th Corps Army) to 2 January 1947 and was Honorably Discharged.14
On 10 April 1960, Janice was baptized at Baden Methodist Church, Baden, Pennsylvania with Pastor Herman F. Roney.9 She was 8 months pregnant. (This came about when the Pastor discovered she had never been baptized and he insisted on an immediate baptism).10
In the summer of 1962, Janice's 14 year old sister, Linda, visited for the summer.20 During her visit, Janice called her father Orville and offered to adopt her sister. Orville agreed but wanted payment.20 In the end, Janice refused and her sister went back to Moundsville.20 Shortly afterwards, Janice cut off all contact with her family and she never saw them again.10 In the 1980s, she spoke on the phone with sister Patricia several times but, other than that, she never spoke with her family after 1963.10
In 1981, Janice married (2) CLYDE BEAUREGARD DALTON aka BUD 1981 in Alameda.10 The son of CLYDE DALTON & ALTA COPPLE, he was born 19 March 1914 in Oakland, St Louis County, Missouri15 and died 30 September 1981 in Alameda.10
During the Depression, his family lived in Ottawa County, Oklahoma.19 Clyde then moved to California.16 As of 30 December 1936, he was living at 1433 Mary Street, Fresno and working for the Sun-Maid Raisin Growers Association.15 In the late 1930s, he studied acting under Maria Ouspenskaya in Hollywood.16 Another student was Krekor Ohanian, also known as Mike Conners, of Mannix fame.
Before June 1948, he married (1) LaVERNE J. JENSEN.10 She was born 14 April 1918 in California and died 06 January 1972 in San Francisco.10 Clyde and Laverne had one daughter.10
In December 1943, Clyde was admitted to the California State Bar Association.17 In 1965, he served a term as the President of the Lawyers' Club of San Francisco.18 He was a Personal Injury attorney at San Francisco's Flood Building until retiring in the mid-to-late 1970s.

She attended First Ward School in Moundsville.7 After her marriage, she moved to her husband's home in Alledonia, Belmont County.7
She married PAUL WILLIAM CROOKS, SR. in about August 1956 in St Clairsville, Ohio.7 The son of SAMUEL CROOKS & NETTIE POOLE, he was born 10 June 1936 in Belmont County7 and died there 04 July 1996.7 He was a coal miner until becoming disabled due to severe lung problems from the mines.7

i. PAUL WILLIAM CROOKS, JR. born 02 June 1957 in Belmont County7 and drowned there on 16 June 1998.7 He had been married and divorced and had a son.7

John
worked for a short time in the coal mines.21 After discovering he hated working underground, he left that job and then had a career as a prison guard at the State Prison in Moundsville.21John married (1) BRENDA SUSAN COFFIELD in Moundsville22, daughter of CECIL COFFIELD & EVELYN WILSON. The marriage ended in divorce.21
He married (2) JANICE McCOWN.21 That marriage also ended in divorce.21 She is the sister of ROSE McCOWN, who married John's brother, Ralph Huggins.21

When Thomas was about 6 years old, he developed meningitis which left him deaf and somewhat mute.20

James & Pearl were unable to care for their children so they were placed in foster care.23 Ronnie and brother Jim were raised together by ALEX EDDY and wife ETHEL REED.23 Mr. & Mrs. Eddy raised over 60 foster children in addition to their two biological children. This wonderful couple is still living and their kindness is well known and has been greatly appreciated.23
Alex and Ethel tried to adopt Ronnie and Jim but their parents refused to allow it.23

Gary Keith Richard, 62, of Belmont, WV, formerly of New Martinsville, WV, passed away, February 21, 2006, at his residence. He was born, May 14, 1943, in New Martinsville, a son of the late Fred E. and Elda M. Kocher Richard. He attended the Church of Christ and an associated member of the American Legion of Paden City. He is survived by three children, Debbie Taylor, and her husband Clayton (Hunga) of Belmont, Michael Richard of Steubenville, OH, Eric Richard, and his wife Misty of Wilmington, NC, six grandchildren, Marc Anderson, and his wife Ashley of Belmont, Zac Anderson of Belmont, Cory Moore of Paden City, WV, Randy and Kaitlyn Richard of Wilmington, NC, Roger Taylor of Belmont, one great-grandson Isaac Anderson of Belmont, and two brothers Donald Richard of Paden City and Gilbert Richard of New Martinsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Randy Richard and one brother, Gerald Richard. Services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 1 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV, with the Rev. John Strimer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasants Memorial Estates, Eureka, WV. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Friday and from 12 to 1 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
