--Man Killed Instantly by Rolling Log--

John Wiley Henry, an employee of the Roettis and Lock Stave Company, was instantly killed on Wednesday morning at 11:00 o'clock. Men were cutting trees on Cole Run, about a mile and a half from New Martinsville, where the accident happened.

A tree that had been felled was being cut in different lengths, when one of the logs ran wild and pinned Mr. Henry under and he rolled with the log into the creek. He was dead when taken from the creek and it is thought he was killed when the log hit him.

He was a resident of Proctor RFD Two and was born in Marshall County, June 1889, a son of the late William and Armina Huggins Henry. He was a member of the Christian Church at Palestine in Proctor District.

Surviving are his wife, Clina Henry and two daughters, Mrs. Okey Goddard of Bebee and Mrs. Elizabeth Trader of the home; four sons, John Everett, Glen Russell, Dale Franklin and Fred Richard, all at home; one half-brother, Calvin Huggins of Akron, Ohio and two sisters, Mrs. Russell Goddard and Mrs. George Dunham, both of Proctor.

The body is at the Wharton and Ellis Funeral Home and will be returned to his late home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Services will be held from Antioch Christian Church on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Palmer Cemetery.
