    13.  ERSEL LOUIS HENRY (OLIVER3, ELIJAH2, JONAS1) was born 10 August 19134,5 (in Marshall County4) and died September 1978 (possibly in Marshall County).5

        *The Ohio Deaths database at ancestry.com has a Pearl Henry (born 22 February 1921) who died 30 September 2002 but it showed her mother's maiden name as BRADLEY.  "Our" Pearl Henry's mother's maiden name was ALLMAN.

    14.  BERNICE MARIE HENRY (JOHN WILEY3, WILLIAM2, JONAS1) was born 24 March 1911 in Wetzel County19 and died 17 August 1971 in West Virginia.19  She was buried at Paden Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Paden, Wetzel County.19

Okey (age 17) worked as a farm laborer (and possibly lived) at the Wetzel County Infirmary aka The Poorhouse with uncle Albert Goddard (39) and aunt Anne Leona Henry (39).  Albert and Okey had not served in the military.  Okey was a farmer and Anne a cook at the Infirmary.

    15.  FRED DANIEL RICHARD  was born 14 April 1914 in West Virginia and died 07 December 1989 in Wetzel County.25  He was buried at Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, Wetzel County.25  (Click here to view gravestone).

Fred was raised by JOHN WILEY HENRY and CLINA ELIZABETH FITZSIMMONS.

(age 21) and "foster sister" Bernice Henry (8 years).  Also living there was John's step-grandmother {Barbara} Jane Huggins Henry (81).  John  was a farmer.  Bernice attended school and could not write.

           i.  GERALD RICHARD was born in 19365 and died 21 October 1972 in West Virginia.24  He was buried at Belmont, Pleasants County.24

               Gerald married SHELVA JEAN FELTON who was born in West Virginia.4

 

          ii.  GILBERT RAY RICHARD was born in Bellaire, Belmont County, Ohio.4

               On 23 May 1960, Gilbert married NETTIE McLAUGHLIN in New Martinsville, Wetzel County.  The daughter of FRANK McLAUGHLIN and EFFIE ANDERSON, she was born 05 October 19405,38 (in Marshall County38 OR Proctor District, Wetzel County4) and died 21 May 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, Monongalia County.38  She was buried at Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville, Wetzel County.38

               Nettie Richard, age 67, of Route 1, New Martinsville, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born October 5, 1940, in Marshall County, daughter of the late Frank and Effie Anderson McLaughlin.

She attended Lazear Chapel Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Nettie was a loving mother and will be extremely missed by her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Lloyd McLaughlin; sister, Wilma Powers; and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Cross and John Powers.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Gilbert Richard; son, Greg Richard; daughter, Annette (Ross) Hinkle; two grandchildren, Kayla Colleen Hinkle and Dusty Nathan Hinkle, all of New Martinsville; four brothers, William McLaughlin, Charles (Ruth) McLaughlin, Thomas (Helena) McLaughlin, also of New Martinsville, and Clifford (Betty) McLaughlin of Sistersville; three sisters, Mary Cross, Verna (Lonnie) Gray, and Shirley (Bud) McLaughlin, all of New Martinsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family received friends at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, New Martinsville, May 23 from 11 a.m. till time at services at 1 p.m., with Pastor Gerald Richard Jr. officiating. Interment at Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville. Sympathy expressions at www.grisellfuneralhomes.com.

    16.  ELIZABETH PEARL HENRY aka LIBBY (JOHN WILEY3, WILLIAM2, JONAS1) was born 03 March 1923 in Proctor District and died 05 January 2008 at either Ellenboro, Ritchie County or Moundsville, Marshall County.* She was buried at Paden Memorial Gardens Cemetery.38

                    *Obituary showed she died at "daughter's home" - one daughter lived in Ellenboro and the other lived in Moundsville.

At the time of their marriage, they lived in Proctor District, Wetzel County.4

The marriage ended in divorce.  In August 1955, Marvin married ILONA M. MEGYESY FINERD.28  He divorced her and married HAZEL HOBDY in 1959.29

 

  Before March 1954, Elizabeth married (2) WILLIAM GERALD 'JIM' JUDGE.  The son of THEODORE AMOS JUDGE and SARAH JANE FLUHARTY, he was born 14 October 1922 in Hastings, Wetzel County4 and died  28 December 19975,40 in Austintown, Mahoning County, Ohio.30  He was buried at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 3495 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Canfield, Mahoning County, Ohio.40  William had served as a Corporal in the Marine Corp during WWII.40

William had previously been married (on 06 February 1941) to WANDA LORAINE PYLES in Proctor Rt 2, Wetzel County.  (Click here to view Marriage license/Minister's return).  The daughter of EDWARD PYLES and LUCY _____, she was born in Proctor District, Wetzel County.4
 


  On 20 March 1954, "Elizabeth Judge" married (3) CHARLES J. WILDMAN in New Martinsville, Wetzel County. (Click  to view Marriage License/Minister's return).  The son of CHARLES L. WILDMAN and JOSEPHINE DAVIS, he was born 11 September 1917 in Alma, Tyler County4 and died April 1986 (possibly in Marshall County).5

At the time of their marriage, they lived in Tyler County - Charles in Alvy and Elizabeth in Paden City.4


 

  Elizabeth married (4) DONALD C. MILLER. The son of JOHN MILLER and ETHEL BOLLINGER, he was born 01 September 1929 in Paden City and died 29 June 2005 in Ellenboro, Ritchie County.38  He was buried at Paden Memorial Gardens Cemetery.38 

 

  Donald served in the military during WW II.38  He worked for Corning Glass Company in Paden City and was retired from there when he died.38

MILLER, Donald C., 75, of Paden City, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in Ellenboro, W.Va.

Donald was born September 1, 1929 in Paden City, WV, the son of the late John and Ethel W. Bollinger Miller, Sr.

He was a retired employee of Corning Glass Company, Paden City; a member of Paden City Wesleyan Church and a WWII Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold James and Leonard Edward Kimble; three sisters, Mae Kimble Owens, Pauline Kimble Sprout and Geraldine Bollinger Gallagher.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Miller; three daughters, Connie Cochran and husband Jim of N.C., Judy Moore and husband Roger of Moundsville, and Beverly Rial and husband Henry of Ellenboro; six grandchildren, Erin Bell and husband Danny of N.C., Kelly Ramos and husband Ulysses of N.C., Scott Moore and wife Kathy of N.C., Dean Moore and Linda Fish of Moundsville, Matthew Rial and wife Amanda of Harrisville and Jered Rial of Ellenboro; three great-grandchildren; Austin Moore of Moundsville, Brandon Scott Moore of N.C. and Riley Ramos of N.C.

Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday July, 1, 2005 at the Jarvis Funeral Home, Paden City where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Bernard Pennington officiating. Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City.

MILLER, “Libby” Elizabeth, 84, of St. Marys, W.Va., formerly of Paden City, W.Va., died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at her daughter’s residence.  Libby was born March 3, 1923 in Proctor, W.Va., daughter of the late John and Clina Fitzsimmons Henry.

She was retired employee of Coming Glass; and a member of the Wesleyan Church in Paden City.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Donald Miller; three brothers, Everett Henry, Glen Henry and Fred Richards {sic}; and one sister, Bernice Goddard.

Surviving are three daughters, Judith Moore and her husband, Roger, of Moundsville, W.Va., Constance Cochran and her husband, James, of Currie, N.C. and Beverly Rial and her husband, Henry, of Ellenboro, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Erin Bell, Kelly Ramos and her husband, Ulysses, Matthew Rial and his wife, Amanda, Jered Rial, Scott Moore and his wife, Kathy, and Dean Moore; four great-grandchildren, Scottie Moore, Austin Moore, Riley Ramos and Alyssa Ramos; and brother, Dale Henry and his wife, Frankie, of Paden City. 

Friends received 6-9 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2008 at Jarvis Funeral Home, Paden City, where services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 with Pastor Bernie Pennington officiating.  Interment Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City.

    17.  GLEN RUSSELL HENRY (JOHN WILEY3, WILLIAM2, JONAS1) was born 17 June 1933 in Friendship, Wetzel County33 and died 09 August 2002 in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.38  He was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville, Wetzel County.38  (Click here to view obituary and here to view gravestone).


 

  On 5 July 1952, Glen married ELEANOR LEE WALTON in Wetzel County.34  The daughter of HAROLD WALTON & LILLIAN ANTHONY, she was born in Wetzel County.33 



  Glen served (as a Corporal
40) in the Army during the Korean Conflict.38 


  At the time of his death, Glen had been living in New Martinsville, Wetzel County.

  Glen married FRANKIE MEADOWS.35  The daughter of FRANKLIN MEADOWS & VONA ESTEP, she was born in Paden City.35

    19.  BEULAH BESSIE GATTS (RETTA3 MINOR, SARAH JANE2 HENRY, JONAS1) was born 29 April 1908 (in Rines Ridge, Marshall County4) and died June 1986 in Moundsville, Marshall County.5

Beulah B. Richmond, 1210 Third street, died Wednesday at her home.  She was born April 29, 1908, on Rines Ridge, daughter of Clay and Rhetta Minor Gatts.

She was a retired employee of Reynolds Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Estel in 1970.  Surviving are one son James Sherwood, of Moundsville; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Melva) Rutan of Moundsville, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Fish of Valley Grove; two brothers, Berlin Gatts of Moundsville, and Marion Gatts of Fork Ridge; four sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Paith of Rocksboro, NC, Mrs. Maude Breeden of Moundsville, Mrs. Ruth Lamb of New Martinsville and Mrs. Norma Jean Holmes of Moundsville; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Lutes Funeral Home, Thursday 7 to 9 pm and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  Arrangements are incomplete.

Estel Richmond, 64, of 1210 Third street, Moundsville, died Friday in Reynolds Memorial Hospital.  He was born Aug 29, 1905 at Lynn Camp, son of Mrs. Ella B. Crow Richmond and the late James Spencer Richmond.  He was a member of First Christian church of Moundsville and retired employee of Moundsville Lumber company.

Surviving are his widow, Beulah Gatts Richmond; his mother of Cameron; one son James Sherwood of Moundsville; two daughters Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Fish of Moundsville and Mrs. Charles (Melva) Rutan of Nixon ridge; one brother Harold of Lynn Camp; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Friends received at Lutes funeral home 7-9 today; 12-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday.  Services will be Monday at two with the Rev Russell Smith of First Christian church in charge; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

ROXBORO - Phyllis Gatts Paith, age 97, died Thursday, January 18, 2007, at Person Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of the Canterbury House.

Phyllis was the daughter of the late Clay and Retta Minor Gatts and wife of the late Thomas E. Paith. She was a native of Moundsville, West Virginia. Mrs. Paith was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the WMU and the Bailey-Dorcas Sunday School Class.

Surviving are three children, Kenneth Paith and Don Paith of Roxboro, and Fonda Lea Warwick of Jackson, Michigan; one brother, Berlin Gatts of Moundsville, WV; two sisters, Maude Breedin and Norma Jean Holmes, both of Moundsville, WV; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and two great- great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2007, at the Brooks & White Chapel, with the Rev. James H. Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Kenneth Paith.

Berlin and Hilda Gatts of Moundsville celebrated 60 years of marriage, Monday, July 24.  They were united in marriage at the Christian Church Parsonage in Wellsburg, WV on July 24, 1940 with Rev O. J. Howerth officiating.

Berlin is retired from PPG, Natrium, WV.  He is the son of the late Clay and Retta (Minor) Gatts.  Holda is the daughter of the late Isaac and Goldie (Hall) Paith.  They are the parents of two children, Jay T Gatts of Crestline, OH and Judy Gatts Wellman of Moundsville.  They have three grandchildren, Tim Gatts of Atlanta, GA, Kristen and Alita Wellman of Moundsville.

Ruth I. Lamb, 82, of New Martinsville, died Tuesday, February 20, 2001, in Osceola Care Center, St Cloud, FL.  She was born September 7, 1918 in Moundsville, a daughter of the late Clay and Rhetta Minor Gatts.  She was a member of the Proctor First Christian Church for 55 years, where she served many years as Treasurer, Past Deaconess and Honorary Deasoness.  She was also a member of the Church CWF and the OES #50 of New Martinsville.  She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Herman W Moore; a brother Kenneth Gatts and a sister, Beulah Richmond.

Survivors include her husband, Charles V "Bud" Lamb; a son Ronald D. (Theresa) Moore of Glen Easton; a daughter, Donna Wilburn (William) of Glen Dale; two brothers, Berlin Gatts (Hilda) of Moundsville and Marion (Buddy) Gatts (Patsy) of Moundsville; three sisters, Phyllis Paith of Rocksboro, NC, Maude Breedon of Moundsville and Norma Jean Holmes (Fred) of Moundsville; two brothers-in-law; a granddaughter; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Saturday from noon until time of service at 1:00 pm at the Proctor First Christian Church with Rev Dr John C. Children of PEARL HENRY and ASA 'A. C.' BEAVER include:
